What window screen repair costs in San Diego
Most companies in this trade won’t put a number on their website. We will. The question you actually have is whether this is a sixty-dollar problem or a six-hundred-dollar one, and you deserve an answer before you pick up the phone.
These are our standard prices, not estimates. We price by size, so what you see here is what the work costs.
Start here: the $159 minimum
Our minimum service call is $159, and it is applied to the work — it is not a trip fee on top of the job. We’re a mobile shop. The truck, the tools and the material come to your house, and a visit costs what a visit costs whether we rebuild one screen or twelve.
What that means in practice: if you have a single small screen to rescreen, you’ll pay the $159 minimum rather than $65. If you have three or more, or any door work at all, you’re past the minimum and paying only for the work. Most customers gather up everything that needs attention and handle it in one visit — that’s the cheapest way to buy this service, and we’ll tell you so on the phone.

If your frame is straight and the corners are sound, you want the re-screen — it’s the cheaper fix and it’s the right one more often than people expect. We only build a new screen when the frame is bent, corroded or missing. We’ll tell you which you need before we start, not after.

Most sliding screen doors that people think need replacing don’t. They need rollers and a track that’s been cleaned and straightened. The $159 service covers that, and new mesh with it.
Sliding glass patio doors
The heavy glass door, not the screen. If you’re leaning into it with your shoulder to get it open, this is the fix.

Mesh upgrades
Standard fiberglass mesh is included in every price above. Any upgrade is a flat $29.95 per window screen or $59.95 per screen door, whichever mesh you choose.

So a standard re-screen with pet mesh is $65 + $29.95, and a sliding screen door service with pet mesh is $159 + $59.95. Tell us which mesh you want when you call and the quote includes it.
What moves the price
- Size. Everything above is priced by size, because a bathroom screen and a picture-window screen are not the same job.
- How many. The visit is the fixed cost. Six screens in one trip costs far less per screen than two trips of three.
- Repair or replace. A straight frame gets re-screened at $65. A bent one gets rebuilt at $89. We tell you which before we start.
- Parts on glass doors. Sliding glass door service covers the labor. Rollers run $39–$59 each and most doors take two, so a typical roller replacement adds $78–$118 to the service price.

Is it cheaper to repair a window screen or replace it?
Repair, when the frame is straight. Re-screening an existing frame is $65 for a standard screen against $89 to build a new one, and the result is the same. We only recommend a new screen when the frame is bent, corroded or gone.
Do you charge a service call fee?
There is a $159 minimum service call, and it is applied to the work rather than added on top. If your job comes to $159 or more, the minimum is simply absorbed into the total. Estimates themselves are free.

Why is my sliding glass door so hard to open?
Almost always worn rollers, a track packed with grit, or a door that has dropped out of alignment. Our sliding glass door service is $245 for a standard door and $345 for anything over 36″ × 80″. Rollers are $39–$59 each and most doors take two, so a full repair with new rollers typically lands between $323 and $463. Reaching the rollers sometimes means pulling the fixed panel, which is $100.
Do you offer a discount for multiple screens?
Effectively, yes — the pricing is per screen and the visit cost is fixed, so every additional screen in the same trip lowers what you pay per screen. Send a photo with a count and we’ll quote the whole set.
Is pet-resistant screen worth the extra cost?
If you’ve had the same screen torn twice, yes. Pet mesh is about seven times the tensile strength of standard fiberglass and adds $29.95 on a window screen or $59.95 on a screen door. It pays for itself on the second tear it prevents.
How long does a typical job take?
Most visits run one to two hours. We build on site in the truck, so nothing gets taken away and brought back another day.
