What it costs
- $159 — screen door service: new mesh, rollers cleaned and lubricated, track cleaned, door height adjusted.
- $395 / $495 / $595 — a new sliding screen door built to your track, by size, up to 36″×80″, 48″×96″ and 60″×96″.
- $295 — repair or install one side of the wall frame or U-channel the door runs in.
- +$59.95 — pet-resistant, solar or fine no-see-um mesh instead of standard fiberglass.
There is a $159 minimum service call and it is applied to the work, not added on top. A door service hits that minimum exactly, so the visit costs you nothing extra. See the full price list.
Why so many Chula Vista doors need this
Screen doors are the single biggest thing we do in Chula Vista. Of the 104 jobs we ran here in the last year, 36 were screen doors — more than re-screening, more than new screens, and more door work than we do in any other city.
The reason is the housing. Chula Vista is full of tract homes built from the 1970s through the 1990s, and nearly all of them have a wide sliding patio opening with a screen door on the outside track. Those doors are tall, light, and carried on four small nylon rollers. When the rollers flatten out the door drops a few millimetres, the frame racks out of square, and it starts catching on the track instead of rolling along it. Then people push harder, which bends the frame further.
South Bay dust makes it faster. Fine grit packs into the bottom track and grinds the rollers down, which is why a door that was fine last summer can be unusable by the next. Cleaning the track is half the repair, and it is the half most people skip.
When the door is worth replacing instead
We will tell you which you need standing at the door, before anything is taken apart. Replace it when the frame corners have pulled apart, when the frame is bowed badly enough that new rollers will not hold it square, or when it is a builder-grade door that has already been repaired twice. Otherwise the $159 service is the right call and the door will run like new.
If it does need replacing we build it to your existing track on site. Production doors from the big-box stores rarely fit a South Bay opening, which is why so many of them end up leaning against a garage wall.
We warranty our labor for one year.
What happens when you call

Chula Vista screen door questions
How much does it cost to fix a sliding screen door in Chula Vista?
$159 for the standard service, which covers new mesh, rollers cleaned and lubricated, the track cleaned and straightened, and the door height adjusted. A brand-new door built to your track starts at $395.
My door is taller than standard. Does that cost more?
Only if it needs replacing. The $159 service is the same price whatever the size. New doors are priced by size: $395 up to 36 by 80 inches, $495 up to 48 by 96, and $595 up to 60 by 96.
Can you fix the door without taking it away?
Yes. Everything happens in your driveway. We carry mesh, spline, rollers and frame stock in the van, so the door goes back on the track the same visit.
The dog got through the screen again. Is there a tougher mesh?
Pet-resistant mesh is about seven times the tensile strength of standard fiberglass and adds $59.95 on a door. If you have replaced the same screen twice, it pays for itself on the next tear it prevents.
Do you work in eastern Chula Vista and Otay Ranch?
Yes, all of Chula Vista including Eastlake, Otay Ranch, Rancho del Rey and the western neighborhoods. Prices are the same across our whole service area.
Text a photo of the door and we will confirm the price before we come out.
