Screen Door Repair in Pacific Beach & Mission Beach

Screen door service is $159. New mesh, rollers cleaned and lubricated, the track cleaned, and the door height re-set. Beach sand and salt are the two things that kill a screen door here, and both are fixed in the same visit.

Sand and salt, in that order

A sliding screen door a few blocks from the ocean has two enemies. Salt corrodes the aluminum and eats the coating off standard fiberglass mesh. Beach sand works into the bottom track and grinds the rollers flat. Once the rollers go, the door drops, racks out of square and starts dragging instead of rolling.

Nearly all of it is fixed by the $159 service rather than a new door: strip the track, clean and lubricate or replace the rollers, new mesh, and re-set the height. We only recommend replacing when the frame itself has bent or the corners have pulled apart.

Rental turnovers

Much of Mission Beach and the blocks nearest the boardwalk is short-term rental, and a sticking patio door is the kind of thing that ends up in a guest review. We do a lot of between-guest work here: tell us the changeover and we will fit the visit into it rather than the other way round.

If you would rather the opening were clear altogether, a Phantom retractable screen rolls away out of sight when it is not in use.

We warranty our labor for one year.

What happens when you call

  1. Call (619) 330-5221 and tell us whether it sticks, is off the track, or the mesh is torn.
  2. We quote the $159 service or a new door price on the spot.
  3. We come to your Pacific Beach or Mission Beach address.
  4. Most door jobs are done in under an hour.

What neighbors say

“Alex was a true craftsman. He made sure my new screen door slid and moved perfectly, and considering he had to make it fit French doors from the 1980s I’m sure it was a challenge!”

Pacific Beach screen door questions

How much does screen door repair cost in Pacific Beach?

The service is $159. That covers new mesh, rollers cleaned and lubricated, the track cleaned, and the door height re-set. A whole new door built to your opening starts at $395.

My door is off the track. Does that mean a new door?

Usually not. The service fixes most off-track doors. We only recommend a new one when the frame itself is bent or the corners have pulled apart.

Do you fix the sliding glass door too, not just the screen?

Yes, as a separate service. Sliding glass patio door service is $245 up to 36 by 80 inches and $345 above that, with rollers priced individually.

Does pet-resistant mesh cost extra on a door?

Yes, $59.95 on a screen door. It is about seven times the tensile strength of standard fiberglass.

Can you work around a rental changeover?

Yes. Give us the changeover date and we will schedule to it.
